If ER was your first Soulsborne game, I suggest checking out the rest of FromSoft’s catalog. Not open world, obviously, but the immersion is still very much there.

It makes all the difference. I died to Malenia like 60 times, and I didn’t care. Within seconds, I was back at it. Even failure is fun when you can try again so quickly.
It’s telling that in a post about taking down a fascist website, you make multiple comments equating it to the broader conservative population. Really giving up the game.
This is what zero class consciousness looks like when it enters this conversation.
How about the CEO’s bonus gets distributed among the workers? Or goes to hire more people and even out the workload? How about the shareholders plan the development cycle to ease the inhumane working conditions?
Because to the people with…
Saying that other people have shit working conditions isn’t an argument against shit working conditions.
This discourse is so dumb. There’s nothing inherently contradictory about a socialist having and spending a lot of money.
Socialists are against the exploitation of the working class. Hasan doesn’t exploit the working class. His income comes from voluntary donations for his entertainment services. From a socialist’s…
Really surprised Mage Knight isn’t on this list. Its solo mode is really great.
The detail in the game overall is crazy inconsistent. One minute you’re seeing some of the best graphics ever, and the next you see a doorknob from N64 days.
I love it, but that sword causes so many realism issues. At one point Cloud whips it up to Biggs’s neck while standing in a doorway and even my wife, barely paying attention, was like, “how did he have the room for that move?”
RE3, for sure. My wife gets really into watching horror games, so whenever a big one comes out, it’s a priority. We both loved RE2, and the RE3 demo is promising.
Divinity Original Sin 2. Been playing for a couple weeks now, and absolutely loving it.
I hate these dreams so much. They don’t let you sleep in peace. They feel like work. Used to have Tetris dreams a lot.
What a ridiculous car. Love it.
What in the actual fuck is that thing? Also, the Dr. Evil response to this made me laugh out loud at work.
I’ve been advocating the “quirky reminder” trick forever. It can be anything you’ll notice later on without fail. I never even use the same item, I just use whatever’s around me. My wife will see me pull a chair four feet away from the dining room table, and say, “What do you need to remember?”
How fast is Mr. X in this game? Slow like the original RE2, sprinter-fast like Nemesis, or somewhere in the middle?
I love Dark Souls, but I HATE the bosses. I got about 90% through DS3, only to drop it after getting stuck at a boss. DS bosses in particular feel so claustrophobically overwhelming – there’s nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, and no time to get a handle on things. They’re just a relentless thrash against a monster who…
Bloodborne and Spiderman.
I commute for a total of 1.5-2 hours a day, so I live on audiobooks and podcasts. I just discovered In Our Time, and I’m ecstatic to have so much new listening material.
I alternate between TES and MMLP being the best depending on the last one I listened to. They’re a perfect tie to me, and are both absolute classics.
