@ Drew...actually this exact scenario already played out.... November 1997 Chiefs vs Seahawks... Louis Aguiar threw a 35 yd slied fake punt pass to Kevin Lockett which was caught at the Seahawks 1 yd line... it was thrown very high like a punt to fool the returner.... totally worked...
