I have an older version of the Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin Cookies recipe from the 70s. It uses shortening and a small amount of water. In the early 2000s, I tried a newer version after they moved it to butter, and the results were disappointing (flat, soggy cookies). I will have to try again and see if it’s any better.
