I find the best part of The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is the use of Bowie songs in the background, often sung in Portuguese. The songs are instantly recognizable and throw an anchor into otherwise unreal scenes.

Batman the Animated series is the reason we have good Cartoons! The stories they had were terrific now. I would also add Phineas and Ferb to that list (at least I really enjoy the show).

You can still hear the instruments in the version the writer posted, especially at the start. The version chetwhitlock posted has the vocals isolated better.

The David Bowie Pandora station is probably my favorite of all time (closely followed by Sam Cooke).

Actually, I don’t even know if Pandora is still around, or if people use it, but you create a channel and seed it with songs or musicians that you like. I used to seed it with a handful of bands to give the algorithm a good understanding of what I mean, but this girl just said, “David Bowie. Do your thing, Pandora.”

Nirvana’s cover of Man Who Sold the world was haunting, but Bowie’s original is ethereal.
