...I’m a big fan of early 3D. What game developers back in the day did with incredibly limited textures and a handful of polygons is nothing short of amazing.

This was a limitation of the N64 cart capacity for storing large files. (in this case, a music file). The dreamcast version (which this is a port of) had optical discs, and could hold much more data. That version had music throughout the entire race.
Also, in the original version the dramatic Star Wars music only kicked in in the last lap, for some reason it’s playing constantly; for a seven minute long race it can get a little grating (and it eliminates the effect of only having music in the important final lap from the original).
They didn’t take Arcade or make any crazy enhancements to the old foundation, because this remaster is a relatively quick-and-clean remaster from the folks who also did the Jedi Academy Switch ports. It’s simply just putting an old classic on a new system without spending a lot of resources, which is probably a…
60 fps makes it feel like a whole new game entirely (the PC/DC version was locked at 30, the N64 aimed at 30 but struggled to hit it even with the Expansion Pak), making a legendarily fast game even faster. Also like the modern control setup, where boost activation is its own button instead of the…
“What’s wrong with that? Most men like legal teen porn.”
“Also that’s only one side of the story”
Also last year Wizards scrubbed Zak Smith as a contributor to 5e after it was revealed he was a serial abuser.
A whole lot of shitbags are getting cut lately. I want to say “it’s a beautiful thing,” but it also means they’ve been harbored way too long.
For those who don’t play Magic, Noah Bradley has been very present in the community and has done a lot of high-profile artwork for the game. So it’ll be a long time before his artwork disappears from the game.
The Empire was HUMAN centric, they didn’t give a shit about skin colour. And yes, the old EU Empire was also sexist but times have changed and there’s really nothing wrong with changing that aspect of the empire.
The Rebels were also exclusively white men until The Return of the Jedi, and the only black guy then was Lando and the only woman was Leia. Times have changed.
I was a little saddened to see that the main multiplayer is 5 v 5. Hopefully the campaign will have more of that X-Wing/Tie-Fighter feel.
The first person is so that you can see the HUD in front of you, as the ships controls. Its fairly cool
I would love a Capitol Ship mode. Where it’s the normal 5v5 but with a 6th player controlling a Star Destroyer or Mon Calamari Cruiser.
No B-wing, literally unplayable
Aww that was a really cute game! Thanks for making it :)
If I can make a suggestion my friends and I created Conversations With my Anxiety in the bundle and you can play it in browser! It is a short narrative game about a first date where you have to have conversations with your anxiety.
We need a crowdsourced list of recommendations from this bundle. With over 1600 games and counting, there’s no way anyone can possible play them all in the next decade.
This article was quite helpful because to buy this bundle was a no-brainer from the activist perspective but also from the gaming perspective - but because there are so many I didn’t know where to start. Thanks for that.
