I guess big hoops can’t solve everything.
I guess big hoops can’t solve everything.
She has most certainly likely stolen WOCs’ work, tone policed them, spoken over them, and probably stolen their parking spot, promotion, and lunch out of the fridge. It’s never just one egregious act with these types.
I guess we’re all blind when it comes to ourselves, but.. this is a woman who has undoubtedly called for other people to resign, to make reparations, to step back. In the most recent example I could find, she criticized white people for taking up space in a city council meeting and told them to cede their time to…
One of my all-time favorite take downs is Natasha Simons’s “Reconsidering the Feminism of Joss Whedon.” Nearly ten years old but worth a read!
If I ever wondered if Jezebel ran its copy past lawyers before publication, then that question is answered forever! I’m sure Kathy Rumer is boiling mad as she reads this- and we know she will- but legally, reporting facts is not libel, amrite?
To say Kathy Rumer has a “reputation” in trans circles would be a bit of an understatement. Like, even the best surgeons will have some complications, mediocre results, disgruntled patients, or whatever else on their track record. But Rumer has more than the rest of the well known surgeons combined, and never in a…
Disney has been really good about the mask mandate. They saw too many idiots in the park walking around with their masks down/off while holding a beverage and then enforced a rule that anyone eating or drinking needs to sit their ass down somewhere.
Disney opening wasn’t the result of political pressure. Park revenue floats way more of Disney’s cashflow than you would think. Does that mean Disney isn’t making any money? No, but between the park being shut down and no major movies or TV being released or in production, the hit is massive. Even TV episodes that do…
In Disney’s defense, from what I’ve read they’re being incredibly diligent about enforcing masks and social distancing. I was heartened to read that after being outraged that they reopened.
Completely agree.
I’m so glad y’all got in touch with Alice M/ u/Ebbie45 for this post. That woman is a goddamn national treasure and has probably saved literally hundreds of lives via reddit.
It’s just strange to me as well, because this means Weiner clearly doesn’t know any professional dancers or certified trainers of a certain age in real life. One of the key components to being that fit and looking that good at 50+ is to keep going and not give up your practice. I know several current and former…
Was so glad to see this Suzanne Sugarbaker-esque rebuttal to that meme.
It is exhausting.
A childhood friend and I recently discussed this. We are 62. We are aging much better than our mothers did, for a variety of reasons other than simple vanity. Fifty years ago a 62 year old woman was considered to have one foot in the grave.
I don’t get Jennifer Weiner’s point at all. Pretty much everyone is hotter now than they would have been at the same age in earlier decades. My mom, at 67, looks better than Blanche did. We wear sunscreen now, and don’t settle for old lady hair cuts at 45 anymore.
I saw that meme floating around too
Jennifer Weiner has been living off this same exhaustingly self-absorbed, back-handed complimenting, How Do I Make This About Me? schtick for 20+ years.
Bringing a child to a fertility clinic is massively insensitive.
It has a lot to do with intent. Lena was concerned about her sister having pebbles, uh, up there at the same level she would have been if the pebbles had been up her sister’s nose, and then there are five year old boys at my daughter’s school who stuff their hand down her pants to make other kids laugh. No matter the…
