How can you all ignore the fact that Ken Jennings just killed a man:

In 2019, people don’t actually have much patience for open-mindedness anymore. If you entertain the position they prefer — sure, that’s open-minded and great. If you entertain the position they don’t, that’s credulity/naivete, or “giving a platform,” or trolling, or whatever.

I don’t know. Rogan’s already had, like, three separate careers, in each of which he’s likely been more successful that the forgettable clever person will ever be at anything.

Weirder still, I’m a Joe Rogan Experience and a Comedy Bang! Bang! listener (and they’re my second and first most-listened-to podcasts, respectively), but I think I’m just a podcast fanatic. Stitcher says I have 1747 listening hours in the past 321 days, when I switched from the Apple app, probably 321 days ago. I get

Could be worse... could be the guy who reviews South Park who has at times just made up shit that wasn’t even in the episode.

That’s because you never invite anyone to your sewing circle.

He really bugs me. I think it’s because so many of his performances are just him stating the obvious in a sketch. He’s the guy who says things like “I literally don’t know what’s happening right now!” as the straight man, and it kind of takes me out of the sketch since it’s entirely without nuance.

his Simpsons is pretty spot-on and honestly a lot fairer than it should be. The SNL coverage definitely feels like his reviewing something the show isn’t and has never tried to be though.

Norm Macdonald...and...Norm Macdonald.

You’re fired.

Or Simpsons reviews, for that matter.

If you seemed to be the only person still doing tv reviews regularly doing his site and were a freelancer you might have an inner grinch too I guess.

theres a qi at the end of lgbt now? when is it just gonna be the whole fucking alphabet?

who keeps promising “extra,” a concept that made no sense in practice. That’s part of the joke (I guess?)

Do you think AVclub can find someone who actually enjoys SNL to write these reviews?

No.

I loved the elf on the shelf sketch. It had a simple premise, but there was a specificity to the writing and performances that made it work like gangbusters. If there were a Highlights magazine for SNL writers, tonight’s Scrooge Extra versus Elf on the Shelf would make a fine edition of Goofus and Gallant.

I did a double take when I read Seth Meyers was one of the best anchors. I hated him on WU. I like him quite a bit on Late Night (the smirking persona works more for me in a talk show setting) , but there were better WU anchors.
