Lamborghini is somewhat unique in that the company acknowledges that their cars are essentially very expensive toys that appeal to the 12 year old in all of us. That’s why I love them.

To be fair, the history of motorsport and land speed records in particular is a very bloody tale. The engineering and safety factors behind these new “production” cars are way WAY more favorable to driver safety than the brave souls driving coffins on wheels who sought speed records 50-100 years ago.
