a C5 Corvette will get 28+mpg cruising at 100, as did my old (early 90s) Taurus SHO. Fuel consumption at really high speeds is highly dependent on how slippery it is, much less so on overall engine power.

Electric would be preferable even when towing a 12,000lb livestock trailer, as long as it’s for a short distance. ALL the torque at 0 RPM. 3/4 and 1 ton pickups could easily be electrified for in-town usage.

Getting a turbo 4-banger into a fullsize pickup is step one, now they need to put a big battery tray and electric motors into it to give it plug-in hybrid capability with at least an 80 mile electric-only range.

I think they’re 12oz bags, mixed vegetables (corn, green beans, peas, carrots), broccoli cuts, and brussel sprouts are my main staples.

Cheaper? I don’t see how that’s possible, given that Walmart has steam-in-bag vegetables for 77 cents each in this area.
