Water and ice don’t stand a chance.

At least for US-spec models, they’re wrong about the benefit of the 6-speed for high-speed cruising - the 6-speed is much closer gearing, and 6th is actually slightly shorter than 5th in the 5-speed.

The most fun race cars are street legal (or close enough to get away with it) race cars.

Some call it “switch foot braking”, when you want to combine the benefits of both, especially if you are using a FWD car.

Haven’t watched the video yet, but the article didn’t mention another purpose:

My Audi used to cut the throttle if you applied the brake for more than a second or so, but seemed to only do so if the throttle was applied first. So heel-toe worked fine (because I’d apply and hold the brake first).

I occasionally use light left-foot braking on the highway, but only for about 1-2 seconds at at time. I do it to dry out soaking wet rotors while maintaining speed. I also try to not do that with people behind me.

And once you learn how to combine the two, massive fun happens.

Mu remains the same, but my normal force increases.

But 197 ft. lbs at 9400 RPM?

This guy was just going faster in the middle lane than someone in the left lane.

I owned a 98 Civic as well and I’m calling bullshit. The best MPG I ever got in that car was low-30s.

Safety I do not desire. Mileage is my master. Where then, I ask, where have all the horrible hoopties gone?

Oh for some reason I thought the CVT wasn’t introduced until 2000 in the HX.

I had a 98 Civic HX which I think was the fuel economy version that came after this VX. I believe it was rated for 38mpg on the highway and I could get 42mpg on a tank on certain off-interstate long drives.

don’t forget the irritating radio ads!

Big Bill Hell can never get enough stars.

The reason for going to Michigan was that the refund there is 10 cents, whereas in most states the deposit is only 5 cents.

I laughed at the intercooler up in the air, but one glance at that horrible rat’s nest of hoses and wires in the engine bay and I didn’t even need to look at the price to decide CP.

Presumably the driver was using his tshirt to close the driver’s door (out of sight behind the car) before coming over to the passenger’s door to repeat the same trick.
