Roy sucking is a major issue with Fire Emblem 6, since the game retains the classic mechanic of every map (save the final battle) ending only after the lord takes the enemy base. The sequel improves on this issue by adding more mission variety (not every map requires the player to conquer the enemy base), adding more

I wouldn’t really call the translation of Fire Emblem 6 the only part of the game that has questionable quality. Its gameplay feels unbalanced and lacks welcome refinement that got added to its sequel.

There’s a lot of information in this article, but I think I will stay true to the decision I made years ago to never play an MMO RPG. They’re too much time and too much money.

How about releasing SNES, N64, and Gamecube games instead of adding a button to trivialize game difficulty (which is trivial enough as it is since save states already exist)?

I get why Nintendo is releasing a version of the Switch that I have zero interest in, personally, but I’m not sure why Nintendo showed off the Switch Lite by proudly displaying the most hideous of the three colour options.

I’m generally of the opinion that speedrunning is stupid (I don’t care if someone can beat Ocarina of Time in less than an hour or whatever), but it at least makes sense to speedrun in racing games, seeing how the point of such games is to clear tracks quickly. That said, I’m not buying modifying the controller as

It’s definitely not considered cool, especially in singles, where there are far fewer opportunities to hit the opponent and less need to than in doubles.

Metroidvania seems to be fine to me. I don’t think I’ve seen very many people hurt by the term Metroidvania, aside from the rare Kotaku writer and very occasional commenter. Also, where are the people who swear off gaming because somebody said the term Metroidvania? It’s not that hard to use a Google search to learn

So do I. Men’s tennis has not been kind to me, in this sense.

In Harden’s defense, he’s not accustomed to being punished for travelling.

I’m not very impressed by this review. Rivera sounds like he didn’t really like the game but is throwing in a bunch of disclaimers about it being good to avoid angering readers. The review sounds a lot more genuine during the criticisms, and there’s an odd amount of dissonance throughout the review. However, some of

Not only that, but saying Symphony of the Night is 24 years old is also untrue, at this moment in time (it’s actually 22 years old right now).

I don’t think Harden is the best player in the NBA (and didn’t think so last year when he won, either), so I wouldn’t pick him for MVP.

I’m a strong Zelda 2 hater and don’t think that failure is harsh enough to describe the game. It makes me glad that Miyamoto is not happy with it (although it makes me more happy that he went on to make Link to the Past and continuously tries to outdo himself).

Anyway, Zelda wouldn’t exist without 2D entries, and the

I’m of the opinion that the Zelda timeline is stupid and that it’s not worth paying attention to it, since the timeline has clearly never been a priority to Nintendo.

I liked having more Dragon Quest XI to play in the third act, but I also think the third act diminishes the game’s story. The second act contained some of the best storytelling and dramatic turns that I’ve seen in any Dragon Quest game, comparable to the best moments in Final Fantasy games (a series which I generally

It’s hard for me to say which game I’d most like, since the remakes I like are usually of games that weren’t that great, in the first place. I don’t usually want my favourite games to be remade since I’m happy with the original versions.

I’m glad I own Evangelion on DVD, since it’s a personal favourite of mine, but I can’t believe I spent $200 CAD on the boxset back in 2003 or so. Around six or so years later, it was available for $40 or $50. Of course, now it’s out of print, so I can’t say I regret it.

I actually think that Final Fantasy V is a bit overrated (to me, it’s easily my least favourite game out of IV-IX), but I’d much rather see a new Final Fantasy in the vein of V than whatever direction Square Enix has recently been taking the series.

It’s a bit of a shame that Castlevania 2 seems to be most remembered these days for the Angry Video Game Nerd videos, but I hope people realize that James makes fun of the game in good sport.
