I’m not sure I agree with 100% of what you are saying, but I agree that “Beautiful Bones couldn’t quite narrow down what it was trying to be and it just got boring.”

I also think that you are right about the main character. I’m able to suspend my belief enough to enjoy Sakarako-san, she isn’t enough to carry the whole

I just want to point out that is was frustrating how disappointing Beautiful Bones was. It had a great start and was beautifully animated.

The most fascinating about Richard’s writing on Kotaku is wondering if he is intentionally generating page-clicks through controversy and targeting of certain audiences or if he is actually just completely clueless and has just about zero unique qualifications to write anything about anime and other media.

I tend to

You both are talking about different things.

Can’t wait to wait for this game to come out and then it doesn’t! Thanks Kickstarter!

This is similar to how Malachi Constant died.

Disagree in the case of cosplay, but that’s it basically.

Just fyi, the choice isn’t between high-heels and flats. There are quite a few things in between.

Although flats may be uncomfortable for you (they aren’t good for anyone anyway), the 1-3" heels are also likely fucking you up despite the fact that they seem to help your symptoms.

I don’t understand, can’t they just leave?

Agreed. The Martian is not what a lot of people would call science fiction. It’s like Cast Away: Space.

We called The Martian the best thriller of the year

How can the second most boring film I’ve seen this decade (sry Melancholia) be the best thriller this year?

Call me crazy, but it may be a bit much to say that a private individual’s decision to create a women-only space and women-only train cars exacerbate Japan’s declining birth rate.

Most the short-forms I’ve watched so far are quite fun. Ojisan and Marshmallow was probably my favorite.

Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju’s first episode was interesting. I’m not sure that the anime will be a highly recommended one, but it is probably a must watch for those interested in Japanese history and culture.

Dagashi

Just a banana in the morning is fine.

Saitama maybe beyond human levels in terms of strength but he can’t fly and can’t hold his breath forever.

Except he probably can still figure a way out of it.

Well a lot of that is subjective (especially “more intellectually mature”), but The Man in the High Castle comes to mind.

If it makes you feel any better, this is an out-of-nowhere message (and segment of the following conversation) sent to me by a friend that rarely (to my knowledge) reads Kotaku.

No one pays $150 for those laserdiscs. I see them for $50 quite often.

One is real?

I just wanted to point out that I live at the beach, and 13-year-old girls in bikinis is pretty typical.
