This might get some hate but the Syclone/Typhoon GM made in 91, 92, 93. That 4.3 V6 with a corvette throttlebody and a big ol mitsubishi turbo on it. Along with the all wheel drive, it would smoke most things at stoplights, all the while giving them hope with the turbo lag. It was glorious when spun up but one year of

I daily a BMW I3 on the I5 south of Seattle and I just have to pay more attention. I drive in a similar manner to how I ride my old motorcycle: pay attention and avoid idiots as best I can.

Performance oriented “blazer” you say?

Depends on the car as well.  The wife and I beat up our little i3.  1000+ miles a month and we only use it’s standard lvl 1 charger.  The charger itself can step up to a lvl 2 but we don’t have a 220 in the garage so it’s just plug into the wall outlet.  The smaller battery just doesn’t need the higher level charging

Yup, that’s exactly the issue. The dealership we are working with has their allocation of vehicles per month and Toyota only gives them one or two or zero of the XSE and then only a small percentage of that is the AWD.  The numbers are against us currently.  It also doesn’t help that Toyota cut Sienna production by a

The irony for us is we wanted a larger, more convenient vehicle for the kids and their gigantic car seats but the way we are going, it will all be just boosters when/if we actually get it.  Don’t get me wrong, we are still going to buy it as the utility of a minivan is hard to match in any other vehicle, but it is

Yup, we are told we “probably” get to pick the color.  Ours is just the option set they currently make the least of it seems.

Over a month...over 3 months. lol. We have been on the waiting list for a Sienna XSE AWD for over a year. My wife has to have the sport model and AWD. Second rarest option set only behind the only 500 model run anniversary edition but you’d think a custom order would just have a place in line like everyone else right?.

Just out of curiosity, did you have to recharge between every lap or every couple?

Depends on where.  Still just under 4 around here, even at costco and the military base.

Not totally ironic. Hawaiian electric is fighting solar constantly (it took us over a year to get the panels approved) but if you can get it approved and installed, it can be 100% offset. We were looking at almost $300 a month for the solar panel setup we purchased because it was still significantly cheaper than the

Alfa! Oh wait...

This seems a bit off. In Hawaii, electricity is so high (45 cents per kwh) that it’s cheaper to drive an ICE. In the rest of the country where it is 10 to 20 cents and gas is in the $4 range...

The screen is an interesting idea if I have total control over it. Like it flashes the battery level, temp, google’s guess on how long the drive home will take when you unlock it but stays off the rest of the time.  Or it can be used in an emergency.  Or a solid color as running lights.  No banners, no ads, no rolling

While I would certainly need to ponder the idea of a 100k+ mile merc as a primary, this would be a pretty cool second car to haul the kids around or even take a road trip once it had proven to be reliable.  If I didn’t have to deal with wife aggro, I’d seriously consider this simply because of the third row and it

And this is why I bought the app that lets me reprogram my i3 (and most modern BMWs). I unlocked all the european features that are there but either disabled or gimped due to US rules.

18 ft load capacity, configurable rear sets, 3rd row... I’m listening.  Too bad most of that wont make it to production but I do like the way it looks.

14 year old gasoline engine truck for 33 grand. CP.

I felt that way at first but after a few months, I prefer it to most other cars, even on the freeway.  Is my wife’s lexus just easier to point and zone out?  Sure.  But the I3 tracks well and is more engaging.  Haven’t gone more then 200 miles in a day though.

As an I3 owner, this is a pretty good take.
