While personally I love the book more. This is one of those cases where the adaptation took the premise and went in another direction that's just as unique and well worth watching in its own way.

Ummm..... No. Or maybe partially. The film is plain terrible, but it's also morbidly fascinating to watch, has some great visuals in places and overall carries a strange otherworldliness in it's atmosphere, which sort of suits an ambitious, quasi-philosophical sci fi book. But improvement? I don't know dude.

I'm assuming that's the great green light your English teacher always wanted you to know the symbolism of in the Great Gatsby.

+100. You know what? I kinda wish Peter Jackson had made Prometheus and Ridley Scott had made the Hobbit. Somehow I think it would have worked better all round.
