He dared to make vague suggestions that we should treat people different folks from us better. So they turned against him? Yup. The cruelty is the point.

I’m never one to shy away from criticism of Biden, and am not particularly generous with praise (as one should never be for powerful people), but this is straight up great. Lean into that shit. Roe is plenty more popular than Biden is, make this upcoming election ALL ABOUT it.  Put conservatives on the defensive all

That Catturd regards himself as “a conservative” — and the media supports it -- goes a long way to explaining how political discourse in our country has gotten so fucked.

It stops someone from responding to or trolling your posts. Yes, logging out lets them see everything, but then they can’t post so a block prevents/reduces them from engaging in that type of harassment.

Yeah, but that would require Kinja to like...actually function. Consider ourselves lucky that we can even post. Half the time the comments don’t even load on mobile.

“Does the removal of blocking in this context really matter?”

Remember: when Elon calls himself a “free speech absolutist”, he’s ONLY referring to himself.  The rest of you Twit users are sheeple subjected to whatever shit tweets he shoves into your account.

A Kinja block feature would probably kill comments even deader than they already are, but it sure would be nice to not see the dipshit transphobes and racists.

I bet he just saw the data that showed just how many people have him blocked and it hurt his little man baby feelings. He really is a pathetic human being.

There’s no guarantees, but this does make me hopeful. Abortion rights tend to do pretty good when folks get the chance to vote on them directly, as opposed to being filtered through a deeply anti-choice Republican-dominated state government.

Every single presidential cycle there’s some wacko dude who emerges from the bottom of the pack and looks great 18 months out. The only one who’s ever won was Trump. The rest all flame out because it’s a long frigging campaign and the dominant paradigms tend to win out over time.

Why do all these so called hardworking blue collar middleclass folks who despise elitists keep gravitating towards billionaires?

Wow, look at this hot young Republican firebrand with his radical new ideas such as: anti-trans, pro-Putin, anti-woke, abortion is murder, God, country, and unchecked capitalism raping the earth to cinders.

The main reason this song resonates with so many people isn’t political.

There’s a good strain of country/americana out there that understands class consciousness, or at least what it means to live a hard life, but it’s always ignored because the writers/singers will be the first to tell any conservative politician boosting them that conservatism is the problem.

It’s those Northern elites. They’re the reason life is so hard for blue collar working class Southerners. Not Republicans in red states who gut assistance programs and vote down infrastructure bills, or turn a blind eye to megacorps who silence labor movements or offshore jobs abroad and incorporate out of the Cayman

  • Conservatives suck at art. They’re bad at it. So there are a lot fewer conservative artists creating art of any quality. So when one does come along and create something passable, every single conservative purchases it, creating a unified wave of dollars behind that one mediocre thing. Liberal dollars, meanwhile, are

This is why I say that liberals and queer people and minorities are hostages in red states. The state government doesn’t bother listening because they know they have no policies whatsoever. So they gerrymander and suppress votes so they can hate on people and keep their rabid shrinking base happy.

Yet another reminder that while Republicans can occasionally win office by calling progressive politicians “socialist”, “communist”, or “radical left”, progressive policies are overwhelmingly popular with the majority of Americans. For one example, Trump easily defeated Biden in Florida in 2020 - but an amendment to

I’m generally to the right of the Jez (and general Gizmodo sites) zeitgeist but I can’t help but chuckle when red states keep voting against abortion bans after Dobbs.  The rabid pro-life wing of the GOP is like the dog that caught the car and found that bumpers don’t taste good.
