This thread is going to hell and btw, they called a yellow cab. Obviously.
It’s because the deceased was much older and much more fragile.
The ap says there is one nearby, but he’s not responding.
This is unbelievably sad and infuriating to read. An 82-year-old man trying to make some money has his life cut short by a millionaire’s reckless misconduct.
When the perpetrator’s drunk, the alcohol causes muscle relaxation - a lot of injury in a crash is caused by the body tensing up.
Because that asshole is drunk and is more likely to be relaxed (which therefore improves your survivability odds in a crash) than the victim.
In this case it’s likely better safety engineering incorporated into the extremely expensive car.
Nah she took a Lyft, no Uber drivers were around.
News reports say McQuiggin drove away from the scene of the accident and ditched her Porsche in a nearby restaurant parking lot. It’s not clear how she got back home.
Not that sudden death is often ever something to celebrate, but why, in these incidents, is it always the perpetrator--usually an asshole--who lives?
#5.... That’s the funniest shit I’ve seen all day.
1) Best Car Part does have the word “best” in the name!
2) A gallon of corn oil dumped straight into the gas tank
3) Did someone say XXR? #hellaflush
4) #stancelyfeyo
5) “Hello, Alibaba, can you color match my coilovers to my vape pen?”
6) DIY Turbos, for mad boost on your grocery bagger’s paycheck.
1) cheapest CAI possible (expecting zero to negative HP)
The low fuel light was on—thanks, Tavarish.
It’s not a thing. Semi-automatic pistols are recoil operated, not gas like semi-auto rifles, so water doesn’t stop the thing from happening. I can’t guess what the barrel extension is for though.
Any firearm will work underwater (gunpowder brings its own oxidizer to the party), it’s just the accuracy (especially of a handgun, hence the extended barrel) that suffers. I’m not sure that there’s anything that’s been done on a “waterproofing” front to make it special.
to me, any car with 4 wheels, that drives, for $1,000 is a ‘nice car’. nicer then walking.
