Damn right, Skipper. Manual trannies all day in the Blue Midget. And hopefully some sex.
Counterpoint to another post: driving should be much cheaper for poor people and much more expensive for rich people. We’ve taken it as read that poor people are more likely to be transit-dependent, which means they spend more of their lives transporting themselves rather than living their lives.

Corvettes are awesome. All of them. Even the shitty slow ones of the malaise era.
I find that the manual gearbox enthusiasts toxic af and it has put me off with the idea of driving one. I view cars as personal spaceships and when was the last time you saw the Millennium Falcon or the Enterprise with a manual gearbox?

Most of the cars produced as 1946 models in the US were just continuations of prewar models. If I had to choose a 1946 car, I would probably go with a Ford V8 convertible. Cars got a lot more interesting a…

I really really hate the concept of a car that has features that are only disabled because you didn’t pay to have them switched on. I know that it’s getting increasingly common among every manufacturer because it’s cheaper to put all the components for a feature into every car than to spec them differently, it…
And time, so much time. My nonworking time is for my wife and kids and occasionally other family members; when the PacHy picks up a nail in a tire I’m going to pay the money to get it done right the first time.
Agreed.
I can appreciate your comments about digital simulation of analog instruments. Part of the issue - I suspect - is the difference between passive (reflective) light sources as you get with analog instruments, and active light sources like screens.
