Yes, pretty forgivable aircraft and hauls a ton with plenty of power for a single. It was probably hot, and who knows what the CG was. Low-altitude stalls/spins are nearly 100% fatal. Even a ballistic parachute would not have recovered at that altitude.
I worked close with metal foundaries for a part of my job (I was responsible for production machining cast parts).
GA pilot here (my company owns 2 206's like this, among others) - low, slow, and in a steeply banked turn is NO place to be. Even guys with Redbull logos on their wings don’t do it slow. I don’t see or hear any evidence of mechanical failure, which says this is very, very poor decision making by the pilot. From the…
Yeah I don’t want lifted, just a general “go to home depot and get paint and 2x4's” lil’ truck. Preferably with a radio and air conditioning, might spring extra for the tachometer this time.
That’s mostly a myth. Somebody posted somewhere, maybe on this website, quotes from a designer working on one of the big-3's mid-size CUVs. The extra metal means nothing. The design was led by customer focus groups (especially women) who perceive the slitty window, surrounded-by-a-bathtub effect as equating with…
I guess tiny is relative - I wish we could still get trucks the size of the little 90's toyotas, those were perfect. Easy to park in a normal garage or apartment-sized parking spot, still able to carry a bunch of stuff.
That’s probably faster than my desktop and they are using it to drive a giant ass screen
Oh man, are you me? I loved my physical keyboard Droids. I appreciate the capabilities of my current phone, but I long for physical keyboards
W180 Cabriolet. Still the gold standard of automotive elegance, even after 65 years. The car radiates so much class, even Darth Orange could look elegant in one.
I have to agree. To me, luxury means real materials (metal, wood, leather), build quality, reliability, usability, and performance, in that order.
I say the same thing about smartphones. My first 2 Androids had slide-out physical keyboards. I could type quickly and accurately all day long. All these years later, I can’t type a third as well on a touchscreen. Not through any fault of my own, but because these stupid things can’t keep up. Even typing slowly and…
It’s been thirteen years since touchscreens became a thing, and I’m still making the same number of errors a day now that I did back then when using one. That bullshit reasoning they foisted on us of “You’ll get used to it” was just that — entirely bullshit. I’m getting sick and tired of them putting these in…

Yeah, I could only find the annual sales total for the model; no breakdown by engine size. I assumed the same as you, that the bump in sales was from the 2.0; but remember that the 6 cylinder was given a bump in power too last year, which may have made it more attractive to buyers also.
You’re welcome.
It feels a little bit like Toyota created this problem for themselves. The simple answer would have been to give the GR86 a more powerful engine, but that would eat into the 2.0 Supra market and is the last thing Toyota would want to do. Almost makes me think the 2.0 Supra was a mistake on Toyota’s part, them having…
Wow Toyota, no shit Sherlock. One would think they already had a few years to work on differentiating it. They shouldn’t really be surprised as the first generation and BRZ and FR-S/GT-86 are nearly identical to drive. At least the Z4 and Supra look substantially different from each other and have the inherent…
Nissan 370Z, for when you need to haul ass to the concert hall!
That was a design requirement. Nissan brass sat down and saw how many classical musicians they had buying 350z’s, but they were losing the bass section because they couldn’t get their instruments in. So when they designed the 370z they made sure that you could get in a double bass or tuba.
