Got it. Thanks.

“Gassing monkeys" debacle. You have my full attention.

You’re forgetting the whole “gassing monkeys” debacle. That’s why I’ll never buy one.

And that’s not even taking into account the ~$1,000,000 cost for a Hydrogen refueling station compared to the ~$50,000 cost for a L3 charging station.

I’m completely with you on how moronic the default SUV purchase is. It’s like lemmings jumping en masse (Yes, I know it’s ficticious).

Why buy this- which looks like a Honda Accord- when you can buy a Honda Accord- which will be a whole hell of a lot more reliable

Yes, great cars. And they never really got the manual 100% sorted. Mine is a lot better than the first ones, but definitely a weaker point of the car. It isn’t slick - more like a 1980s shifter (and feels like my former86 300ZX). One more generation and they would have the same refinement that the Veloster N now

Wait, you got a V6 Genesis Coupe for $23.8k? Or was that a typo and it’s really $33.8k? Even that is a good price.

2016: When I was shopping for a Genesis Coupe, one Hyundai dealer (lol, honest ones are the story here - and they do exist) told me a $35K MSRP sticker price was a great discount because it was a $55K car! Either he was lying or did not know the difference between the sedan and the coupe but since he pointed out

Wife was shopping for a car before we were married. She was at a Ford dealership looking at probably an Escort or something. Trying to size my wife up, the salesman tells her “Ford uses the concept of "Feng Shui" when they design their interiors."

“I need to talk to the manager to get the price” “This is my best price”

You probably walk in knowing the product better than the “trained” sales staff.

This is the best article I've ever read

I’ve never understood the dealer’s obsession about making it so damn difficult to buy a car.

Now, to be fair, I have also bought two cars (including the Protege) from Morrie’s Mazda in Wayzata, MN, and been treated very well both times. Trading in a Ford Escort I had bought from them used on a brand-new Protege went smooth as silk, took about a hour, they didn’t try any hard-sales bullshit or after-the-fact

Same here. The most I have ever had is them having me sign some BS to show that they offered me all the BS. No hard sell ever. I make it VERY clear up front I am not interested. And I suppose being a big 6' 2" 330lb+ very well dressed kinda-sorta black guy might be a tad intimidating. ;-)

It’s actually not a bad idea. Which is terrifying.

Should have plopped the kid on his desk and started changing it right there.
