Tonight Show ratings have always dropped at first under every host, except maybe Carson. It plunged with Leno at first as well (to the point where Letterman was on top for quite a while.) It'll drop with Fallon, too, and then turn around eventually, just like it would have with Conan if they'd let him stay.
