Yup, I saw a similar accident. A Dodge Neon t-boned a Chevy Silverado. The truck pulled out in front of the neon and was flipped neatly on its side. The Neon drove home, truck was totaled. I saw it happen, took pics of the aftermath, and got called to court as a witness. The Truck driver claimed “no fault” all the way

The problem is they never had any ideas about reducing the cost or speed of tunnel boring except to just use narrower tunnels, to ignore the cost of any externalities like soil variation, and to exclude from the final cost any amenities or features that were not strictly tunneling (stations, signage, egress,

If they stripped it back to the initial aim, namely developing earth-boring technology take can churn out tunnels significantly faster than we can now, it’d probably do fine. I’m 100% behind burying critical infrastructure, be it electrical, network, utilities, etc all the way up to the interstates, especially within

No. I think we’re in hubris vanity project territory here.

Boring company just looks like a quick cash grab at this point, complete vaporware in pursuit of startup-funding contract vehicles. Musk has learned well from his experiences with space travel how to manipulate the government in bids, and Boring company is basically a beltway bandit company in pursuit of that big

Real farmers/ranchers do not want lifted trucks because it makes them LESS capable/practical, especially for towing, accessing the bed, etc. It’s almost always city kids with lifted brodozers, at least around here (Montana).

I once saw a Nisson Versa total the entire passenger side front axle and suspension of a mildly lifted Chevy 1500.

Just like area 51, they can't stop all of us

I’d be more embarassed becasue if I had $80K + to spend on a vehicle, I would not want to look like the help. With that kind of disposable income, I’d hire other people to do my dump runs and move my trailers.

I suspect the real function of the driver is to clean up the barf and deter passengers from having sex in the cars.

The Boring Company makes a boring tunnel

The stickers are really an egregiously bad aspect of this culture

This story made me think of the local drag races. I must have watched 50 runs where some Demon / GT 500 driver smoked a 20 year old car with more power less weight but no computers. Sure you went faster, but my kids could drive your car down the strip dam near as fast as you did. Those cars you beat took actual skill

This reminds me of one of my favorite past times....

I assume this article is all tongue-in-cheek but...

The fact that the Suzuki in the bottom pic isn’t in my driveway makes me feel like life has been wasted.

There’s also a point to be made that work vehicles don’t have to be spartan and shake your teeth out. You harped on how that F250 was “too nice” to do any real work and you’re very, very wrong.

Tell me about whats going on on the left!

I’ve been waiting for this.

If you turn Chev Chelios to 11 you are turning it down a couple of notches.
