Most of the non-urban US does not have real estate prices like that. $500k would get you 15 acres of land and a nicely built 4,000sf house around here.

That is true for Manhattan, north Brooklyn and San Francisco. Most other parts of the USA you can get a nice house for $400-600k. In some areas that will buy you the biggest and nicest house in town.

The Enterprise wasn’t the flagship it was an embarrassment.

Still better than the Enterprise-D with its endless hijackings and holodeck malfunctions.

My theory is that the Constitution Class Star Ship is the F35 of Star Fleet, an over engineered, over equipped incredibly expensive lemon of a ship that has never worked right.
