You are confusing movie reviews with film criticism. A movie reviewer job is NOT to analyse a movie historically or ideologically or any other approaches. The job of a movie reviewer is to tell the public whether or not they should shell 15$ to go see a movie, and why/why not. If you want in-depth analysis of a movie

Katie Holmes was perfectly fine in Batman Begins. Replacing her with Maggie Gyllenhaal added nothing.

Man of Steel is a great movie, and I have absolutely no problem with Superman killing Zod at the end. It was necessary to save the world and I don’t care what io9 says.

Star Trek Into Darkness is perfectly fine, and way more Trekish than raging nerds would have you believe. The folly of blind revenge? The dubiousness of following morally questionable orders? Sounds like Trek themes to me.

I heard their gods were puny.

Both GOTG movies are just OK.

You know we all mocked Marvel for their excuses about it being complicated to do Black Panther in the same breath they announce a sequel to Thor which involved elves, Asgard and various fantasy realms. And honestly they deserved being so clueless as to literally say those things side-by-side. But in moments like

UNLIMITED POWER!!!!

and the song Duel of the Fates.

He was the best part of the prequels.

I really like Ewan McGregor as an actor, and always thought he was hamstrung in the prequels by terrible dialogue and direction. I think it would be fun to see him revisit the role, personally, as long as the story was done well.

This is fucking outstanding speech bubble placement.

I don’t know about his skin, but his hair says “Keyboardist for 90's R&B band.”

mmmmm... Is it contagious?

Good article, and Lawful Good can be a PITA at times, but the true worst alignment is chaotic neutral. It’s the asshat’s “excuse alignment” to try and be disruptive to the game. I’ve been DMing D&D specifically for 20 years and it’s invariably the problem child’s choice.

but don’t cover how he’d show up, considering Steve’s sacrifice in the climax of the first movie.

Okay, but who is playing Tippy Toe?!?

Oooh, I do not believe that we’ve had a dour, grimdark 007 that’s grounded in reality yet. This will make for a refreshing change!

Yeah, just what we need. Another cold, humorless Bond film. I’d much rather see Lord and Miller, or Edgar Wright do a Bond. Or, how about Gareth Evans? That guy knows how to do action.

I’d watch it. Nolan’s cool approach -and by cool I mean literal blue lens style- would fit Bond very nicely.
