Likely no, the organizers of these things know of bad blood and try to avoid interactions if at all possible.

Also, bless Tatiana Maslany for the virginal white pantsuit for her first Emmys. I might have given her a necklace to go with, but otherwise A+

Jaimie Alexander = The Lady Sif, of Thor’s band of warriors.

I found the update from the National Zoo on Mei Xiang’s water breaking more disturbing, it was more like a major explosion!

Honestly having done a similar switch, I adapted pretty well to APS-C. I kinda miss full frame when doing night sky photos, but I made sure to get the wide angle adapters to deal with that.

Yes, they are so nice in terms of size. I’ve mostly switched from a Nikon D5100 to the a5000 because of that. Also when I travel, space and weight is at a premium, so the Sonys are nice because they aren’t too heavy for my Manfrotto travel tripod.

I’m currently making grabby hands for the a6000 as I have an a5000 and am just trying to be good and not spend water like money (farking car cost too much this week).

I used to do sprint tris and always was a bit of a rebel, swimming in my Speedo (not a wetsuit) and pulling on a pair of Target bike shorts (so not padded) for the bike.

Mmm, my great great uncle was a Trappist monk, so of course, we got their jam at Christmas.

Ah, yeah I’m the bit of family that got out of Colorado! But there’s two branches of cousins in Colorado, one of whom seems well adjusted, and the other who seems to be like your house “guest”.

*looks at your home state* Um, are you family? Because seriously this sounds like shit from my Colorado family. The family where there was some active alienation because I moved away for college. And because I went to college and got an education. And am now too educated and married, but not married for the express

As someone that lives in the area, it was less side of the road than parking lot of a park. As per the report from Anne Arundel Police, the mom said the baby was supposed to be with the father. I personally wonder if that was the public site of a child handoff for reasons.

Which field are you in? I have some things to say about one of the postdoc programs that might not be fit to be in print. And unfortunately the eye doctor will have to happen soon, I’m been grumbling in weekly seminars about being able to read slides and it’s not just because people write walls ‘o text.

Oh, I actually like that one! Though most of these mnemonics forget the brown dwarf stars: so there needs to be a SLT at the end.

Yeah the other photo of Mars Barbie had me and Mars Barbie at AMNH holding a piece of Mars, and I kinda try not to cross my internet name with my real name, though smart people could figure it out ;-)

So civil servant hiring is pretty much at a standstill in the agency (to many arghs on the science side where things are starting to become very..senior..), so your best bet is with a contractor. Recent contracting companies that have had people in the History Office include Beacon Associates, and Valador. One of my

Degree in history you say? You know, we also need historians, that’s why NASA has a history office!

Very true. Though I wish there had been a generic call out about this. There’s been a bunch of internet/Twitter backlash in the last week with women astronomers specifically using the #girlswithtoys hashtag on Twitter because of an offensive sexist thing a male member of our field said in an NPR interview.

Thanks :-) I have to be honest though, almost anyone can work in a space job. None of us who work in astronomy or planetary started out just able to look at things at be able to you the physics or geology behind it, we all had to do lots of work. It’s just a different kind of work. Some of are better with equations

Oh and in case everyone thinks astronomy means the coolest toys ever: yeah, we get good views on mountains, but sometimes *ugh* we have to be stuck in horrible 60s era wood paneling all night long!
