My dad often wonders the same thing. I don't think Lillibeth will abdicate because 1) duty, 2)Edward VII and 3) succession rules. If she abdicates, her descendents will lose their right to the throne, and the crown will likely pass to the Linleys (or whoever the eldest son of the late Princess Margaret is). I think.
