The flashbacks have really served their purpose by this stage. Oliver was stuck on an island, he went through hell and now he's a badass. We really don't need to know anything else, do we? Plus the flashbacks eat up episode time that would be better used on servicing the large ensemble cast or beefing up the villains

I wonder why she isn't the regular feature that she used to be on the show. I suppose that motherhood is an obvious and very good reason.

She's setting the table for a salmon ladder May sweeps crossover event. The salmon ladder and Barry's treadmill are rumored to have scorching chemistry.

Yeah she was great in Shannon's Deal, I had a total TV crush on her in that show. It was also a smart show that was cancelled before it's time. I'm planning to rewatch Lone Star over the weekend to mark her passing, she was really excellent in that too. In fact I feel that she did not really get enough roles worthy of

Slate's contrarianism took a very ugly turn a few years ago when they ran a series of articles about the Phoebe Prince case that were basically victim blaming Price for what was done to her. I stopped reading the site after reading that toxic garbage. Although I do still ocassionaly listen to the Slate Culture

Brendan Gleeson or bust.

He'll always have the transcendent car park.

Well I expected Liam Nesson to be in it. I suppose that he cannot star in every film where an avenging pensioner runs around punching Eastern Europeans in the throat.

Garfunkel and Oates is also really good. I'm kind of surprised that it didn't make the cut for regular AV Club reviews.

To be fair Carla Gugino was a social worker and not a hooker or a stripper in the first Sin City. Although this particular social worker was introduced walking around naked in an singularly gratuitous scene.

You're right. Hopkins was doing the respected actor decides to kick some animal ass fifteen years before Liam Neeson starred in The Grey.

He was also very good in Anna Karenina. Normally I'd be very skeptical of a son of an acclaimed actor entering the family business but in this case Gleeson is a very talented actor in his own right.

And Blood On The Tapes is even better.

As an Irishman I feel proud that we've produced an actor of the caliber of Brendan Gleeson. Also it's nice to see Michael Fassbender is propagating an image of Irishmen as well hung studs. We'll just politely ignore the fact that he probably inherited his bratwurst from his German dad.

I'll try to check that out, thanks.

Robbie Coltrane is hands down the best Ghost of Christmas Past in any adapation of A Christmas Carol.

So is Bob's Burgers. Enjoy them before they canceled kids!

Well he did use to be on a CW show so even if it's a step down in terms of prestige it's not as if he's fallen that far.

That scene is continuing GOT's theme of "No good deed goes unpunished". Varys stuck out his neck to save Tyrion and confirmed that he really did regard him to be his friend but he sacrificed his social status and position in King's Landing in the process. Still I'm looking forward to the wacky odd couple sitcom of

Feck! Drink! Arse! Girls!
