Jim Carrey is one of those people who is undeniably talented and yet I hate most of his output. His “serious” period shares a lot with Robin Williams’ (specifically One Hour Photo and, to a lesser degree, Death to Smoochy), and even Adam Sandler’s standout performance in Punch Drunk Love.

I think this is conflating two very different concepts. Parents will feel unprepared for their children (emotionally, financially, temporally, etc.) no matter what the situation is (wealthy, impoverished, only child, 17th child). In that sense, if the only thing holding an otherwise loving couple back from having a

Blurg, I didn’t know they were together until this comment. Bennet had really grown on me as Daisy but this is such a turnoff. Goddamnit! First Grimes, and now this!

Hahahaha, thank you. I can’t be the only person that did a double-take at the “ONE tweet” bit. If it had been one tweet, ABC may very well have gambled on keeping her. Instead, it was the 40+ other tweets that painted a very clear picture of what would happen if they didn’t fire her.

The double standard is exhausting. Without excusing anyone’s behaviour, I think it’s still safe to say that the left is excoriating and excommunicating allies all over the place for trangressions (of varying levels of severity and authenticity) of any kind, but meanwhile we have all lost count of the number of

Can’t wait for Batman to appear via IM!

I also think seasons 4 and 5 were very strong. Unfortunately, popular opinion runs contrary to this, so don’t be surprised if you say this to people and they look at you like you’re crazy.

The toughest part of Hardcore mode (for me, at least) was ammo weight. I got so very used to carrying around all these weightless bullets with extremely forgiving exchange rates that it was a huge shock to my playstyle when I had to start leaving rockets and huge ammo cases behind.

Oh, my friend, we are already en route to hell.

Being a straight man sounds exhausting and super depressing.

Not a single one of the people you mentioned is a visible, or oppressed, minority. Many of them (the reverend, the police chief, the mayor) are specific satires of the powerful positions or offices they hold.

So I want you guys to be on Use Your Illusion. Only now it’s “allusion” with an “a.” So if you guys want to put an allusion in there somewhere, like Poe or something... Don’t do Poe, ’cause I’m doing Poe.”

Gosh, yeah, such a shame we’ll have to stop saying the n-word, cunt, faggot, and all sorts of other slurs. Man, I’m gonna miss all the racial epithets! Truly the hardest part of all this.

I love Ru...as a drag queen, and a pop culture personality. She’s extremely charming, and mind-bogglingly skilled at pop culture references and banter. Lately (not the Project Runway era) she’s looked flawlessly glamorous every time she’s on screen, so that’s all great.

“I made a huge mistake

I mean, I’m talking to you right now. I don’t think debate on the internet is screaming into the void—I’ve read some very persuasive articles and comments in the past that have changed my mind about things. Hopefully my responses will have the same effect on others.

Pretty sure Alex Jones went before a court and said he wasn’t a journalist, he was a TV personality. The AV Club covers TV personalities. Jones even calls out, by name, other famous names from the film and TV industry (which the AV Club covers).

I think the franchise has some problems with how it treats queens of colour, particularly black queens. We’ve all seen the numbers—talented black queens pull a fraction of the social media followings that white queens of equal or lesser talent do. The show pays lip service to the ideal of “let’s all be nice to each
