Yea I have a few other Heros I 2 starred for their passive, and a few others I’ve leveled for expeditions. My main was a Ramierz I got to 3, then I found a Banshee and she’s at 3 now as well. But leveling a collection of heroes feels more useful than leveling any defender.

They also got tied to the player cap, which at some point they felt they needed something to accommodate single players. But they take hero XP, one of your guns, a bunch of your ammo, and can only be in one place.  

I got kind of used to cards playing Warframe, which my default behavior was to hoard everything. Once duplicates came in then start shredding for experience. I feel defenders could play the role of turrets do in other tower defense games, but at some point they wanted the player to do that job.
