Yeah, Klyden was complaining about Bortus spending so much time “at work”, with Bortus saying “You knew when we got together that this is what my life was, and when you agreed to join me on this ship you knew it would be like this.” Never heard any mention about sex, just him not making time for him ...

I just watched it. It was really good. I guess it’s not original storywise, but I’m new to this stuff, so it was really cool. Honestly, I’m really getting into the show, and I think it’s just going to get better from here.

“Nothing was solved, and nothing was really even discussed— the Good Guys saved the day with their superior knowledge and unquestionable morality, period.”

The Productions codes on the Orville Wikipedia confirms that this was supposed to be the 2nd episode.

Gotta say, I’m really diggin’ this show. I was expecting to make it halfway through the pilot and never look at it again, but now I look forward to new episodes. Fun sci-fi short stories with serialized dramas and such, hell yeah. And last episode’s ending being sorta fucked up, and leaving a rift between the central

This is so clearly a vanity project, and simultaneously a work of fan-fiction. And I have to say, there’s something oddly endearing in that. And it’s kindof a perfect cheat to get a new Star Trek show of the classic mold onto the air, yet not have to run the risk of being disappointing.

I get your point about scaring the natives with the unending dark night sky, but I’ve gotta say: that visual was pretty cool. I wouldn’t mind if our real-life sunsets happened that way!

Is MacFarlane’s name and presence anathema to any segment of the population that COUNTS? I mean, the AV Club has hated him for years, and I understand why even though I don’t share the hatred, but...who cares what you guys/us guys think? Yeah, A Million Ways to Die in the West was a misfire (although I paid money to

I’m glad reviews like this exist, otherwise I would have gone through life believing I thoroughly enjoyed the show without knowing I was actually supposed to dislike it.

The Orville is Duplo to TNG’s Lego. It’s brighter, simpler, and definitely covered in more saliva.

What the hell are you talking about. This was the first really good episode of The Orville. I hope they build on this.

I find it quite ironic that the Rotten Tomatoes scores for critics (hated it) versus audience (loved it) are practically the inverse for Star Trek Discovery which just barely managed a 61% audience rating. It seems to be further proof that both Hollywood and the NYC blogosphere have completely lost touch with the rest

Mediocrity? This show is frigging awesome, and your review is off-base. Get woke.

Also 116 pages of 4 and 5 star reviews by actual viewers beats the 15 or so reviews by professional critics. IMDB has this at 7.5/10 metacritic has this at 8.0 on viewers reviews, tv.com 7.9/10. It tied with This Is Us season premiere, a highly viewed show, it sounds to me like most critics have lost touch with what

Fucking bullshit, this episode was great. It gave a oldskool TNG vibe to the series :) People have specific expectations, that’s what’s ruining your measley lives.

For all the comparisons with Star Trek, it’s easy to overlook other influences on the show. When Kelly and Alara were approached by the military guys, I was picking up some serious 1970s “Battlestar Galactica” vibe. And the “city” backlot sets made me think of “Sliders” for some reason.

I thought this episode was excellent. I think the whole nighttime thing was a nod to the recent eclipse.

There have been other browser add-ons and plug-ins that offered this kind of functionality, and they were shut down by content creators. I wouldn't doubt they'll get some sort of lawsuit against them soon.

I have observed something interesting: Netflix through Rabb.It is Netflix USA. I am in Canada and some shows are not available through Netflix Canada. When I get my Netflix through Rabb. It, I can have access to all those nice shows and movies I miss... :-)

I think the idea is that it just opens and syncs playback of two (or more users') windows so they can both watch the same thing at once, but they will both need to have access to the resource to do so. i.e. My friend Frank and I can both watch an ep of Archer on Netflix, but all that rabbit is doing is opening a
