Well, I'm black. I didn't think the world was perfect but I definitely didn't think racism wasn't as prevalent as my parents made it out to be. I mean, their lives when they were 12 (segregation still in effect, pre-VRA, pre-Civil Rights movement) were light years away from my experience.
