Embracing the camp is the only way I'm going to get through the argument presentation. This one's a plain old biography, though. At least it's about a cool lady!

Sometimes you can go to a pharmacy and ask them for a few pills when you have an SNRI/SSRI prescription until you get your refill called in. It's not uncommon.

The glowy bug one is one of the ones that lived in my memory forever as a kid. Gah.

I just finished writing a presentation on a historical figure for my Swedish class. Now I have to make a fucking powerpoint. I hate powerpoint.

My mom's in the same boat as you now, and she's never been happier. Glad it's working out for you too :)

Nice! That's a fantasic arrangement for you both. Too bad most cleaners don't have it half as good.

I feel bad for the family helper. Split shifts are the worst.

Neither of my parents got more than high school diplomas, and my mom pulled a similar hustle (seasonal work cleaning houses, waitressing, and data input for the IRS just for the insurance despite the 90 minute commute) so I get it.

That's not bad if she's not an independent contractor or if the agency she's with isn't taking half and she has a short commute or more than 3 hours at a time.

Yep! I'm pretty smart, and spent my childhood being told how I was going to be a CEO or a successful lawyer etc.

I just want to give you a big hug. That sounds absolutely heartbreaking, and I hope he has good points to outweigh his bad ones :(

For me it hits a little closer to home, in that a lot of my friends are being blatantly exploited as au pairs and I was exploited as a babysitter/tutor for this class of dual-income families in egalitarian Sweden. When you "have it all", even here, you must be stepping on someone else to get there.

I think what these studies are saying is, that despite the best of intentions, people who are well-educated and probably have spoken about these things are still actually behaving in ways that are not egalitarian.

I'm really glad that I figured out that I'm not ambitious, because that's making my choices feel a whole lot better right now. I feel truly bad for the women who ARE ambitious, because this position between a rock and hard place is not getting better. It also increases exploitation of lower class women as

You mean corona as a replacement for hymen? I've seen that on English language sex-positive websites from the UK; so it's not just them.

But it's waaaaaaay better than onanera, the swedish for "masturbate". Runka (jerking off) isn't particularly sexy either, imho.

According to my boyfriend (native speaker from Sörmland), "pulla" is slang for fingering. Klittra has my vote, it's way sexier than "onanera"

Why would I think you're dumb? This is specialized knowledge I only know because I used to read wikipedia medical articles when I had insomnia and my mom was a potential candidate for a transplant when she had leukemia (she ened up not needing it).

No kidding! 7 years ago when my mom had leukemia I looked into registering, but it actually cost money for donors to add themselves to the registry (like $50 iirc). It's great that technology's dropped the cost!

Bone marrow uses a different kind of typing called HLA. And you don't donate it like blood — you donate it if you're a match for someone who needs it. So it's possible!
