I missed you last week Jezzies! Combination of Kinja glitching & one hell of a week reduced me to lurking status. So much stuffs happened. And didn’t happen. And kinda happened. My brain is basically a hot mess from all the stuffs.

I think your dad might have been trying to pay you a compliment, but dads can be super awkward and weird sometimes. I understand the feeling though. I used to have terrible skin, and whenever people who knew me back in the day say something along the lines of "Wow! Your skin is so nice now!" I want to curl up and hide.

Not a failure, and not a loser. I wasn't ever really able to breastfeed my daughter, and I beat myself up over it for a long time. But you know what? She's a happy, well-loved kid, boob or not.

When I was little (we're talking pre-kindergarten) I made my dad read "Sleeping Beauty" over and over and over so many times he finally hid it in the couch because he was sick of it - but he never called me out for rooting for Maleficent or crying when the dragon died and the evil princess won.
