Aside from the Chewy scene, the Porgs really pulled me out of the movie. Didn’t enjoy them.

This is a common misconception. Zelda is the scientist. You’re thinking of Zelda’s Monster.

“It was a relief then that Rian Johnson did what needed to be done... I hear those criticisms, but find them easy to forgive in the face of how brave some of Rian Johnson’s choices were.”

I liked Abzu, but it wasn’t at Journey’s level. Now if Abzu had a PSVR mode, I might feel differently.

Ya, Abzu didn’t hook me the way Journey did.

No. :)

Having read a few of the manga volumes, it’s actually a bit more complicated. She’s called a “sleigh beggy” because her body both generates a ton of magic internally and then also absorbs it in high quantities from all of nature and the spirits/fae around her. If I remember right magicians in the universe typically

I mean, they’re still quality frickin’ video games. No one makes single-player games like Valve, and the two Epidsodes are only lesser than the base HL2 game in that they’re shorter.

Your last paragraph finally sold the new show to me. I can now finally get over the lack of 70's-disco-cylons and visibly nylon cords holding the ships (yeah I have a soft spot for those).

I don’t think they can be considered together really. They have the same basic premise but the new series is a lot darker in tone and is more political. Honestly I think the grimmer tone is more appropriate to the premise given it’s about a group of people that narrowly survive the genocide of their people and are

Oh god, the Mortydroid... poor little guy, I think I felt more sorry for him than I did for Jerry.

I loved that moment where that Morty robot gained sentience. Also, that entire subplot with Armothy was hilarious.
