I know this is a bit off-topic, but the title of this brought it to mind: what's the easiest way for me to read comics online? I've transitioned away from dead-tree newspapers outside of the occasional ones in the dining halls, but I do occasionally miss sitting down to read the comics section. And while the panoply

Yeah, I can't see buying one any time soon, but goddamn, we're living in the future!

Not sure whether to be happy apple was able to meaningfully influence the future of mobile computing or be sad that their 'my way or the highway' ethos now carries that much weight, but I don't think it's a bad thing. My phone runs flash quite nicely, in theory, but I can't even remember the last time I actually used

Who's got two thumbs and is flying through O'hare thanksgiving weekend? This guy. Whoopdedoo.

You can't lock your computer without special software? I'm not sure if I know exactly what you mean, but if you mean to require entering the system password before you can resume what you were doing, you can just press ctrl+shift+eject and that does it. Also that's an odd logout bug—I haven't had that experience.

Whoops, 30 dollar, I should clarify

I've been extremely happy with a 30 pair of sennheisers (I believe their the hd202s? I don't have them in front of me). Basically without knowing much about headphones I do know that if I get the best sennheiser for the price I won't be disappointed

What is with not being allowed to reply to short comments? That's incredibly stupid.

Yeah, I think so. I'm a happy android user but I think windows phone sounds pretty damn cool, I'd consider it if I was looking for a new phone

Except for a lot of people, I think brand loyalty is just a way to simplify the incredibly complicated choices of the market place. For instance, it's easier for me to just buy sennheiser headphones because I know they're relatively well-regarded, they're decently well made in my experience, and I like them than it

It's not like he spent a grand on the costume: the only thing he spent was probably the shirt and fake blood. I'm sure he just owned/borrowed the ipads

Wait, did you actually just say that you live in san francisco and have no choice but to eat at taco bell? Sure there's a lot more mexican food in the mission than anywhere else, but there's definitely some decent mexican food in almost every neighborhood, somewhere. And it's not that big a city. C'mon man, we

Yeah man, I can't believe they can't just go out and get a job. It's like, there are so many jobs out there! There are more than enough jobs for everyone right now, right? Anyone who can't get a job right now must just sit around on their ass all day.

It's a photo printer, that prints professional quality photos. So no it doesn't just 'do printing', in the sense that you'd printed out an invoice on it.

I have the A2's in my dorm room and have been nothing but very pleased

Also why are they using the same western digital photo that the other article they linked to used?

Okay, I didn't realize you were talking about direct country-to-country aid, of which I agree there is a lot more potential for misuse. I was thinking you meant giving to x fund to distribute food to flood victims or whatever

Okay, point taken

Aha, thanks for the clarification.

The name you're looking for is epicurus, and what is called the epicurean paradox: "Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?"
