It’s even worse when there are Harley festivals. I know people who actively plan to be out of the city when they occur.

Private prosecution is either very limited or outright banned in most states. An ordinary citizen, in most jurisdictions, cannot just file criminal charges against another individual. They can only present what they have and hope the DA’s office decides to pursue it. That may work in some rural areas where there isn’t…
Even easier would be if there weren’t bystanders. People stand at the exit for the sole reason of seeing/encouraging people to do burnouts. Without the bystanders there’s no reason to show off, which would heavily reduce the number of incidents. The people there are getting exactly what they want to see.
My friend had a Mountaineer back in college. She was oddly afraid of someone in her car murdering her (should have had an S80) so she always left the rear seats folded flat so she could see everything behind her while driving.
My guess is that because it is a seating surface they have to include the belt to avoid liability. If the center console extended and divided the two seats they wouldn’t need to worry about the extra belt. Since someone could technically sit there with one leg on each side of the console they need to include it or…
Based on sales numbers it seems the A7 is indeed the preference for most. It’s outsold the CLS since its introduction (not hugely, but it outsells it) and it probably outsells the 6 Series as well. Unfortunately the numbers I looked at don’t differentiate between the sedan and coupe versions of the 6 Series but given…
I rarely see the 6 Series in general around here (I can count maybe 4-5 times) but the MB CL seems to be very popular with black males in the sense that out of all of the ones I’ve seen, only one had a white male driving. That doesn’t mean that “well to do” black men only buy the CL around here, just that the CL seems…
None on the western shore of Lake Michigan either (at least, in Chicago and Milwaukee). Something similar happens around Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin though I think the “lake flies” are smaller than the mayflies featured here.
I don’t think that’s true. The S90/V90 was always supposed to be SPA and why wouldn’t the C70 replacement be SPA as well? If the S90/V90 is getting a different platform, a RWD one at that, I can’t see them making their target of releasing it next year. Plus, it wouldn’t make economic sense to put two comparatively low…
Allegedly the new platforms are only designed to accommodate 4 cylinder engines in the front. That could have been said to reinforce their 4 cylinder only strategy, but if it’s true that would mean no larger engine size options.
The S80 is older than the XC70 as it debuted a year ahead of its high riding counterpart (2007 model year vs. 2008).
Well, at least he still has his affiliation with Effen, and the grocery store signings in suburban Milwaukee, Wisconsin that come along with it....
I think this is the best method. The car your ex loves but can’t afford. It not only communicates that I’m doing better without you, it grabs their attention without giving them the opportunity to hate on the vehicle itself and puts something in your hands that they want and cannot have. It’s especially effective if…
My friend did the exact same thing, except he was only separated. Bought a red 9-3 and didn’t need her permission.
Except for the fact that the XC90 is an all around much nicer car than a Forester or an Outback.
Very true. It’s definitely a Quattroporte. I remember when the other two (I’ll pretend like I don’t know their names) were chastising him for being flashy.
Potentially, but it was set up as a passive system. You had to actively press a button and tell the car to report back to the fob whether there was someone inside. If you’re doing that, then you probably know that you left your kid in the car. Plus, it was distance limited.
The V70R never came with the heartbeat sensor. It wasn’t introduced until the EUCD/P3 S80/V70/XC70 and the V70R went away with the P2 platform.
This is my suggestion as well. It was neat in the sense that I could tell people my car had a heartbeat sensor in case anyone was waiting inside to murder me, but never actually useful and it was a little slow. You had to be within fob distance of the car, press the info button and then stand there (presumably in a…
I think it may be the same feeling people get when someone in a car pulls up on the right at a red light and then tries to blast in front of everyone when the light turns green. I’ve seen a number of people, especially in Chicago and Milwaukee, try to race/block the person so they are forced to slam on their brakes…
