Allegedly the new platforms are only designed to accommodate 4 cylinder engines in the front. That could have been said to reinforce their 4 cylinder only strategy, but if it’s true that would mean no larger engine size options.

The S80 is older than the XC70 as it debuted a year ahead of its high riding counterpart (2007 model year vs. 2008).
Well, at least he still has his affiliation with Effen, and the grocery store signings in suburban Milwaukee, Wisconsin that come along with it....
I think this is the best method. The car your ex loves but can’t afford. It not only communicates that I’m doing better without you, it grabs their attention without giving them the opportunity to hate on the vehicle itself and puts something in your hands that they want and cannot have. It’s especially effective if…
My friend did the exact same thing, except he was only separated. Bought a red 9-3 and didn’t need her permission.
Except for the fact that the XC90 is an all around much nicer car than a Forester or an Outback.
Very true. It’s definitely a Quattroporte. I remember when the other two (I’ll pretend like I don’t know their names) were chastising him for being flashy.
Potentially, but it was set up as a passive system. You had to actively press a button and tell the car to report back to the fob whether there was someone inside. If you’re doing that, then you probably know that you left your kid in the car. Plus, it was distance limited.
The V70R never came with the heartbeat sensor. It wasn’t introduced until the EUCD/P3 S80/V70/XC70 and the V70R went away with the P2 platform.
This is my suggestion as well. It was neat in the sense that I could tell people my car had a heartbeat sensor in case anyone was waiting inside to murder me, but never actually useful and it was a little slow. You had to be within fob distance of the car, press the info button and then stand there (presumably in a…
I think it may be the same feeling people get when someone in a car pulls up on the right at a red light and then tries to blast in front of everyone when the light turns green. I’ve seen a number of people, especially in Chicago and Milwaukee, try to race/block the person so they are forced to slam on their brakes…
E92/E93 328 as well (I didn’t see your post when I made my redundant one)
Easily one of the best decisions I’ve made
We have a multi-aisle surface parking lot at work and people will constantly circle the front half of the lot looking for a parking space as close to the building as possible while completely ignoring empty spots that are 20 ft. beyond the first half. It seems like insanity to me.
My point is $200K is NOT doable for many people making $50K a year. You’re either going to struggle to save for a large enough down payment or you’ll be dedicating way too much of your monthly income toward your mortgage. The article automatically assumed a 20% down payment to reach their “affordability numbers” and I…
The difference isn’t just $50. The real world difference between putting $40K down on a $200K house and putting $10K down is nearly $300a month. You can’t pretend like the PMI doesn’t matter to people’s monthly budgets.
Going with 3% down not only drags you down the affordability range but as you mentioned also requires PMI which may cost as little as $40 but often is much more than that, at least with people that I know.
Only the 4GC is a hatchback. The 6GC has a traditional trunk.
The Gran Coupe is a 5 door/hatchback rather than a traditional trunk/boot.
