My mom had no idea about any OS whatsoever, so I put Ubuntu on the family desktop and she has grown quite accustomed to it. You have to hand it to the Canonical guys for making a beautiful Linux distro.

For some insane reason, my college blocks the ftp and sftp ports (21/22). I have tried a few "online" ftp clients, but they're all shitty compared to FileZilla / CyberDuck. Do you know any online ftp app that is usable? Or maybe a magical way to actually bypass the blockade?

So everyone who buys a WP7 phone should basically go mad in a couple of days?

The American carriers are full of shit. I am paying Rs.31 ($0.75) for 3000 texts a month, and Rs.200 ($4.50) for 500MB of data a month.

Did a fellow Mishra make this, or does Mishra mean something else in some other language?

Couldn't agree more.

After reading the headline, I thought those bikes were electrocuting their riders.

I am a Zscreen. Granted it's a bit overkill (they should just focus on the screenshot part), but it takes perfect screenshots of the Aero desktop unlike other free screenshot apps.

Yup, I pronounce it as 'mu'torrent.

Potassium and fluorine are my favorite elements on the periodic table. I absolutely hated it when sodium and chlorine got all the attention in chemistry books.

It's not working for me yet, so I guess they're rolling it out gradually. Or maybe the feature doesn't have HTTPS support yet.

I am possibly the only creature on earth that likes Windows Media Player. I am not a hardcore music listener, and somehow I just find WMP 12 to be fast and adequate.

KMPlayer for Windows is similar but much uglier.

Why do they even bother to talk about anti-piracy stuff in their ToS when they're basically supporting only the piracy-crazy sites? My college blocks torrent downloads, so I'd love to download them through services like this, but mostly I'm downloading American TV shows and stuff, which these sites will just pull down

Is there an app for Windows that deletes the ZIP (or any other format) files after extracting their contents? I presently use 7-Zip which doesn't seem to have this feature.

Candles?

One possible problem is that most of the cheap netbooks come with a slow HDD, and not flash storage (which the Chromebooks have). So Chrome OS will definitely run slower on them.
