Brilliant episode, Arcadia is probably one of my Top 20.
Brilliant episode, Arcadia is probably one of my Top 20.
Fair enough but I really enjoyed both stories in 'Home Again'. Scully's story with her mom really hit all the right notes for me. I loved the little references to 'One Breathe' and I love how The X-Files refuses to adhere to True Detective's rigid novelistic approach to storytelling. If The X-Files was anything like…
Right. The X-Files just feels "magical" to me because every episode has a very unique identity and explored radically different genres. 'Triangle' just felt like a tightly written suspense thriller set in the 1940s, 'Bad Blood' felt like a 45 minute comedy, 'Home' felt like a mini-horror film. The episodes did't…
I get where you're coming from but that's exactly WHY I loathed True Detective and why I love The X-Files. I could barely finish True Detective because none of the episodes stood out to me. Everything just felt like a blur and I felt like I was watching a really long 8 hour movie. I guess some people actually like…
If Scully never finds her son, wouldn't that be the ultimate Hell for Scully as a character? She's had a longing for motherhood ever since she lost Emily. Scully finding William seems integral to Scully as a characer imo, he's the one single thing M&S haven't totally lost which could finally bring some happiness…
Not sure if serious. Why would you not want character development? Is this a joke post?
Are you talking about last week's comedy epsiode with the Were-Monster? I LOVED that episode, it was absolutely hilarious, just like many of the old classic episodes like Bad Blood, Dreamland 1+2, Small Potatoes, PMP, etc.
I think The X-Files writers should write the show for the fans who have been with these characters for all 9 seasons. I guess you can't please everyone but lots of fans DID stick around for Season 7, 8, and 9 and even liked them. I loved Season 7 and Season 8 was always one of my favorite seasons.
"And enough with William, who gives a damn? "
Speak for yourself, William is my favorite aspect of Season 10. I was really disappointed M&S didn't find him in IWTB, if they are reunited in the finale or Season 11 I'd be ecstatic.
Don't agree with this review at all. Very solid episode IMO. Not perfect but felt like a good classic episode, at least a B+. And I care VERY much about William, he's been central to the core mythology and the character's own personal stories since Season 7.
I thought the dream sequences were fantastic, DD's in particular. I thought his JFK speech and the scene with William and the rocket was definitely a high point for the show.
Oh my bad Jordo, I thought you were honestly suggesting Triangle was a badly written episode!
'Triangle' was one of the best episodes in the entire series. Troll harder.
Great episode, unlike the premiere which almost ignored everything from Fight the Future and beyond. Founder's Mutation seemed to make note of the show's past, which shouldn't be ignored. Loved M&S referencing the Syndicate's old project with the hybrids, and the AU scenes with William were very touching. I…
Yeah, I mean I love Breaking Bad as much as the next guy (it really is a fantastic show) but I don't find 'Felina' or 'Crawl Space' to be any more "though provoking" or "intellectual" than any good installment of Twin Peaks, The X-Files, or Babylon 5.
Yet Chris Carter wrote and directed 'Triangle' in 1998 which is one of the strongest episodes in the entire series.
What? Millennium S2 was fantastic. The virus story was fantastic, and the closing montage with Lara Means one probably the best episode in the entire series.
The X-Files has always been better than "prestige TV", which is typically nothing more than overrated fluff anyways.
Idk who that is but Olivia Dunham is the bomb.
