I used to have a book of sci-fi short stories. One of them ended with the main character turning on a time machine, and the last few lines were backwards. That stuck with me.

But will you finish it? What's what I want to know. Will you finish it?

The audience cheered the 20th Century Fox fanfare when I saw The Phantom Menace. That was all they cheered.

My assumption is that Finn was going to jump ship along with the other guy - perhaps they had been planning a break for some time - but of course he gets killed. So Finn thinks "fuck it" and improvises his escape.

I disagree. The novel is esoteric but the plot is a lot more straightforward than the film - it doesn't have the Tokyo driving sequence and from what I remember it's novella-length. We learn very little about the planet itself.

At this point the thread has completely lost me, and I find "Colin Mochrie" sitting here by itself right at the end. I'm going to upvote it because that's how I feel right now, right now.
