So, have the old comments been wiped? Or have I not whitelisted the right servers with Scriptsafe? Just goes to show the transient nature of internet comments.

I note that John Carpenter is still alive. I’m not suggesting that he’s engaged in foul play - not at all - but isn’t it suspicious that he’s the only one left.

Did it have a lengthy chapter exploring the parallels between The Hills Have Eyes and America’s experiences in Vietnam?

The Soviet Union was incredibly racist, or at least ethni-cist. It wasn't much fun being a Cossack or Crimean Tatar during Stalin's time. The USSR wasn't mean to African-Americans, but that isn't the only form of racism.

He accepted the job because he didn't have to draw his feet.

But in those examples the outcomes you cite are presented as bad things. Kane and Lector are iconic, but they aren't role models - they're successful men who didn't know how to be satisfied with their lot. In the case of 300 the militaristic society is presented as a good thing and something to emulate.

He's the spitting image of the archetypal mid-80s preppy punk villain - all he needs are some dark sunglasses and you'd think he'd stepped straight out of Night of the Comet.

Time wasn't present in that dimension.

Imagine if she had interbred with the coconut crabs. There would now be a race of coconut crabs with Amelia Earhart's face. It would be the creepiest thing ever. They would have little Amelia Earhart faces saying "help me!".

Any comment that reminds me of the sight of Ornella Muti in skin-tight spandex being whipped by a science-fiction dominatrix is a good comment, in my opinion.

No, nine.

Remember when Kelly McGillis was a big deal? Tonnes of people rented Witness after Top Gun came out so they could see her topless. The AV Club could have referenced that. But no.

I imagine massive speakers and earth-shuddering bass.

"The likeliest [explanation] seems to be gas, either from undersea vents or from decaying plant matter at the bottom of [your stomach]."

Judging by the lack of upvotes your reference was one level too deep.

"Did you see that, Zach? Clear as a crisp spring morning. The letter "R" under his fingernail. It never fails."

It's like Frank Zappa. It's sad that Frank Zappa didn't live to see the 2000s.

Given the subject, is this really off topic? If you're really Christopher Stansfield, then who is HE? (points to strange man)

It's glaringly noticeable that she's gone from a Best Supporting Actress win to a bunch of CGI characters and now television. Internet television.

I disagree. The sentence is too complicated. It gets off to a bad start with the parenthesis and it's mostly redundant. What purpose does pharyngeal serve? It adds nothing of value. Also, AN elongated eggplant.
