Holy fuck. How horrid for him and all the people that watched that. Remember a while back that dude that lit the fireworks on his head and died? People just going on about how dumb he was to do it. But goddam, people who loved him saw that. How is that not a total tragedy?
I just tweeted this same sentiment like holy shit this is a child stop literally basking in his death
Ok commenters. I get that this was a very dumb thing to do on a lot of levels, but he was still a teenager (a kid in my opinion) and now he’s dead. It’s still sad, whether he clearly made bad decisions or not. Or maybe I’m just being overly-sentimental.
God yes. I’m so happy to see this upvoted. There is a really bizarre problem where a lot of people in the social justice movement act like sanctimonious evangelical Christians, demanding penatence, refusing to listen to or communicate with others and making it more difficult to convert people to genuinely good causes.
The whole “shaming” and “problematic” thing is a lot of young people on the web stating an opinion that then goes viral because it’s raw meat that entertains a lot of people or gives them a feeling that their voice is somehow being heard.
What astonishes me is that the liberal left used to be the side of the political spectrum most concerned with discussion and dialogue. Now the name of the game is exclusively to shame people, and commentators are often far more concenred with being Right (as in correct), and another particular person being Wrong.…
I agree with this. I remember this article from earlier this year:
I’m growing more and more uncomfortable with the seemingly increasing progressive notion that people’s backgrounds must be fully delved into and punishment doled out for things they did years and years ago, retroactive, permanent punishment. It strikes me as so anti-liberal.
What exactly is wrong with male tears? Why do feminists have a problem with men having feelings? I thought you want men to have feelings? Just more feminist hypocrisy, I guess. Truth is, if a man wrote an article which generalises all women, you would be frothing at the mouth.
I got it and laughed, if that helps?
Yeah, I tend to agree. Writing is hard, especially writing something like a screenplay which has to be cohesive and fairly long.
