the humour of American Dad is very similar to that of, Red Dwarf. Eg Roger says "My wig looks like Garfield had a miscarriage on my head". The difference between Rimmers elaberate comparisons and Family Guy's "cut-aways" is one visualises the comedy and the other leaves it up to our imagination.

Stereotypes come from somewhere, they are not wrong exactly....how you are as a person can change perception.

Comparing South Park to Family Guy is rather baseless. That is like comparing South Park to Archer......

I prefer American Dad, but it's funny how, on a formulaic basis, American Dad and Family Guy are closer to being "British" comedies, rather than American. Archer is my fav cartoon comedy at the moment...much clever writing, but in terms of comedy, they all shoot for the same kind of gags.

family guy (but more american dad) is a hybrid of american and British sense of humour, but more British.
