On Star Trek it seemed like we always got the elite of the elite to give us the impression that hey all of humanity has reached this level. But could every ship in the Federation be staffed by the cream of the crop? At some point you would figure hey there has to be a ship somewhere in the fleet crewed by the screw

Yea it’s kind of crazy but it does fit my need for some optimistic science fiction on well lit sets. Just like Star Trek of the past it makes me really want a space ship just to go out there and see all the wonders there are to be seen. A likable crew, cool aliens, it’s everything I wanted so cares what Seth McFarland

Prime does tend to solve a lot of problems. Darn I need a birthday present for next weekend, oh wait Amazon has tons of stuff in stock and delivered free in 2 days thanks to Prime. Darn I really want to listen to some 80's music, oh wait I can use Prime music on my phone. Oh hey that’s one of the free book I can read

Anything that gets us great villainy.

Well it is Paramount. Not exactly the most competent of the major studios.

I didn’t know every last form of metal was dead. Back long long ago when we felt angry and rebellious heavy metal was the sound track to our rage not top 40 pop rock.

For the mega budget films a drop of 50 to 60% is pretty normal. Guardians of Galaxy Vol 2 dropped 54.4%. Spider Man Homecoming dropped 59.1%. Thor Ragnarok dropped 54.4%. Logan dropped 55%.

My favorite new show of 2017.

Had a tough time tracking it down in the theatrical run in the US. But my jaw just dropped at the visuals of the film since they let you soak up the scene instead of rushing things. Actually enjoyed just how emotionally into the movie some of the other people in the theater were.

Has something changed at Paramount that they are now willing to do reboots when they have fought against any real reboots for a while now? Hey it’s not a reboot Trekies it’s an alternate timeline universe with different actors. Hey Transformers fans we can fix all this without a reboot. Ouch, those last attempts to

I think people are just a little too paranoid that Disney will buy everything. Paramount had such a rotten year that they have to point to Daddy’s Home 2 as their big success for the year, but Disney isn’t buying Paramount. Even with deep deep Disney pockets they don’t have the resources to buy Universal. If the

I think you have to look at the history of Hollywood. We’ve seen periods where one studio or another dominates because they had the talent and film making mojo to leave everyone else in the dust. We’ve seen studios rise and fall so in the golden age of film we had the big five, but RKO isn’t around any more. We saw

If they were doing live action then I could see doing a replacement. But you are right why not John Astin for the cartoon voice just like Warner Brothers did with Adam West and Batman?

I feel like the live action adaptations still aren’t going anywhere because Hollywood just doesn’t get what made the source material work. Ghost in the Shell would attempt to mimic scenes but they were just xeroxing the scenes without understanding or heart.

Six major Hollywood studios only on paper. Right now three studios swap back and forth who has the biggest movie of the year. So it’s usually Disney, Universal and Warner Brothers in the top five. Once in a while Fox or Sony can crack into the top 10. Poor Paramount hasn’t cracked the top 10 since 2014 and after

Kind of the problem with a superhero universe. New York is huge city but at some point you’d figure that one of the Defenders would find the same trouble as Spider Man. That with all the property The Hand was going after none of it was owned by Tony Stark. That the Defenders were the only people with super powers

What’s next? Are they going to own the word “con” as well so that other events have to call themselves the geek gathering, the nerd herd, the poindexter posse, the otaku roundup, or the fanboy assemblage?

I agree that it would have been so much better to save it for when you actually watched the film.

Well this is Paramount. For every Arrival you get a Transformers The Last Knight, a live action Ghost in the Shell, a Monster Trucks, or a Baywatch. The same studio that said what’s wrong with Star Trek is it’s too smarty pants and not enough dirt bike action.

On the downside he didn’t reach the milestone of 3 million Twitter followers.
