You should comment less, comrade.

He’s 18, which combined with how quickly his teammates drew over it only makes this explanation all the more likely.

As I tell my students:

“If you have to explain every joke you make to everyone but yourself....
It probably isn’t funny”

“Listen, Russia should be allowed to invade and occupy a sovereign nation, bomb schools and hospitals, and murder thousands upon thousands of innocent people in horrific manners to further the interests of Vladimir Putin and line the pockets of Russian billionaires, because the US has done shitty things too.” Yep,

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

One person’s ego causing a bunch of other people to suffer the consequences?

All skinfolk ain’t kinfolk.

“The Sports Center anchor has made a point of airing her conservative views in media appearances outside of her employer’s platform.”

I continually have to remind myself that despite this site having once produced actually good and thoughtful journalism (and probably even now, from time to time,) at this point it’s typically a few steps removed from someone writing a Reddit post off the cuff; the why of it is probably complicated.

Exactly. This seems like rude, poor judgment on the part of the server and no one else. I’m not sure why people are taking this as an opportunity to bash Olivia or Jason. Maybe Olivia was previously avoiding the papers, but I doubt it.

And that’s why this piece is inexcusable. This is a question about service of process. The idea of a layperson writing an opinion piece about this without at least talking to a lawyer or process server is ridiculous. She leaves it to the comments for lawyers and process servers to answer the question she didn’t bother

I have people served with process and subpoenas all the time—like I’ve done this hundreds of times—and have worked with dozens of different process servers all over the country. I’m sure you CAN specify that you want docs served in a particular manner (even beyond whatever legal formalities are required in a given

I have been serving process papers and subpoenas for years.  I am hired by lawyers, not the clients.  Never once have I communicated with a client about anything, including the manner in which the documents are delivered.

Clients generally have ZERO input or interest in how papers are served.  The fact that anything is being made of this at all to make Sudeikis look bad is pretty despicable.

I don’t think clients have much input in how or when papers are served. Attorneys hire process servers to take care of that, and unless the person may be hard to locate or may be evading service, or the client otherwise has specific info on where they might be, they will not be very involved.  The process server is

Process servers deliver where they believe people are most likely to be. If you have published information as to your whereabouts, all it takes is a quick Google search to find you. Quick and easy.

This is a smart way to serve papers.  Wilde couldn’t hide behind a closed door to avoid getting them, it’s in public so she’d be much less likely to be confrontational, and she can’t say she never received the papers.  I’m sure Sudeikis had nothing to do with the timing.

Um….of course he had no idea how the documents were doing to be delivered. Are you honestly tying to imply that he somehow had something to do with her getting it delivered to her on stage?

Love the insane vibes here. “Sure she cheated and destroyed their relationship, but she was really Inconvenienced by this :( :( :(
