Ok, this is an NPR recommendation, so take it with a grain of salt. It is also a HEFTY read, so if the subject matter does not interest you, move on to something else. :) It is As Meat Loves Salt by Maria McCann and is about two soldiers in the English Civil War. Heard it's bodice-rippingly hot, though. Anyone who's

I know. I think I just committed a crime by looking at that photo.

Now playing

I rolled over and pinched my right boob a few nights ago and it was excruciating. It's either this or the Kush Support. :)

Crazy cat ladies that I KNOW are on here need to come on out of the woodwork and vote.

Maru FTW.

It's Hobbes' duality that makes him the ultimate character, and the ultimate cat, ever. He is a ferocious jungle cat and an innocuous stuffed animal. He is Calvin's best friend and has mastered the philosophical. He is the earthly (or cartooon-ly) manifestation of everything we think cats should and would be.

I love what Demetri Martin says about camo:

Totally not appropriate; my 2nd grade teacher did this (she also took away chairs from us) and it has stuck with me since.

OH MY GOSH YES GO GIANTS.

It was a prescription - it should be pretty fast if you see a doctor.

If there was a naked man in the room, BURN!

I should go to bed I'm all drugged on Ambien and Ativan but enjoy the floating feeling. I definitely don't want to start any of that sleep-eating or sleep-driving stuff, though...

My boyfriend has the same problem and he got some beta-blockers. He says they're a miracle; it's the same "performance-enhancing drug" that musicians use before a big performance. :)

I love Heather Morris's complex Brittany. I hope they continue to develop this storyline, as I know a lot of teens that watch the show.

It's my brother's favorite film, and he read the screenplay. Apparently, Clem and Joel originally keep getting back together and erasing each other from their memories dozens of times.

I know breast milk is a LOT less gross than this, but I can't help thinking about the semen cookbook: [www.lulu.com]

I also hate the word "titty". I've always preferred "so cold my nipples could cut glass," but I like the word nipple.

Kavalier and Clay was amazing - all of Michael Chabon's books are great, BTW. <3

Now that you mentioned Bette Midler in "Hocus Pocus" I now LOVE it.

@riveting.rosie: HILARIOUS! I want to send this to my brother, an admitted "weird quirky girl" of the latter type lover. In fact, I think he just wants a Zooey Deschanel + Regina Spektor hybrid.
