Wow didn't realize NBA League Pass is only $65. I subscribe to a full cable package largely for NBA. May have to look into that, though I find sports (for whatever reason) don't always translate as well to streaming as, say, Netflix. I'm not sure why, but I've always felt I've experienced more hiccups and/or worse

That strategy I think actually goes against this. The automatically adjusting funds tend to be high fee. They are recommending to do your own allocations into low fee index funds.

Or because I understand math.

Gotcha. Its just a poorly written and confusing article. I still have no idea what the part about being defensive and losing only .1 percent of sheep is about.

Also, I went to CSU as well.

Hence why the author is confusing.

This is confusing to me, and I work in finance.

I think I agree with most of the premises, except for the defensive part sounds a lot like market timing to me. Good luck trying to reduce your losses in a down market without losing gains on the upside.

Oh, yes. I agree its probably easy to install Snap or Amazon on BB10.2.1, but for many American Q10 users 10.2.1 hasn't been rolled out, and has no estimated date. 10.2 still hasn't come out on Verizon, so neither is an option.

Amazon App Store won't install. Verizon at least is still stuck on 10.1.

So in order to get any app beyond Blackberry Maps and basic things like mail/Twitter/Facebook (all of which are available on the winning Nokia smart phone) I need to download a non supported OS?

I'm sure I could probably find "hacks" to do things with plenty of other non Blackberry phones, but as it exists right now, I

I think you misunderstood. I saved like $25k last year in all on $72k, so we are on a pretty similar tack.

Probably spending too much money. I make $72k (so slightly more, and before bonus) and I put $14k in a 401k, plus $5k in Roth, and still save a few hundred dollars per month.

You can even do this with a simple financial calculator as well. I'm sure there are plenty that are easy to find for smartphones. Or if you prefer a physical one there is always the HP 12c or something similar.

I highly recommend that people take an Intro to Finance course through Coursera or other MOOC.

I would argue that some of the other suggestions (namely Nokia 515 LG Extrovert and LG Rumor Reflex and Nokia E52) should also be DQ'd then, as they do all of the things that Q10 does.

Yeah. I mean I don't know a ton about graphics cards, but I just bought a Radeon 7850 for <$90 and it covers everything I need it to. It plays games made in the last year at 1080p and full graphics on, which is all I need.

On all non Verizon carriers it does. Hopefully VZW will get it together and updated to 10.2.

If you're looking to upgrade your graphics card, you won't find a much more powerful option than the MSI GeForce 780 Ti. It sells for $715 pretty consistently around the web, but Newegg has it today for $670. Granted, that's not cheap, but it should satisfy the needs of even the most hardcore gamers for years to come.

Only partially in jest...

Yeah. I have one as my work phone on Verizon and it still on 10.1, so no Android apps yet. Hopefully that happens soon so that it can do more.

Without those it really is basically a feature phone. A great messaging phone, but can't do much else. Hoping Android apps run well.
