I get debt collector calls for my ex wife, does that make me a bad person too?

I forget the name of this kind of rhetorical fallacy, whereby you think that everyone should be like you because you were able to be like you. It’s as if I walked into my high school and called everyone a lazy ass because I’m in a doctoral program and they’re not, or won’t.
I hope you never lose your job. I hope you never face unexpected and crushing debt due to something like medical costs. I also hope you don’t get your identity stolen, because that’s always the victim’s fault.
Identity theft victims have to deal with debt collectors. I pay all my bills in full. Get off the high horse.
You do realize that some people deal with this due to identity theft through no fault of their own.
Here is the issue, yes you should pay your debts however and this has happened to me. My new phone number was once someone elses who had a debt issue and I received their calls for 3 years even though I said their number had changed.
This ignores just buying episodes of shows form Amazon or iTunes. If you watch Silicon Valley and Game of Thrones only on HBO then just buy the episodes. Also having Hulu and Sling are redundant unless you want ESPN. Also most people subscribe to Netflix regardless of cable or not.
This. Also, let’s not ignore the hardware costs. $15 a month per box from cable skews the bill massively.
The advice seems worthless without providing proper alternatives.
