Lawmakers (everywhere) need to put on notice that this sort of thing needs to be made illegal. Something similar happened with the new Braves stadium, and Cobb county voters put the guy responsible out on his ass in the next election. We need more of that.

None of this makes sense to me. WV has the closest decent skiing to the entire southeastern US. Rhode Island has beaches, and is in close proximity to a bunch of densely populated states. Mississippi has casinos and beaches. Hard to believe any of these are less visited than somewhere like North Dakota.

Cars aren’t overpriced when you consider how much more durable/reliable they are versus a generation ago. Back when I first started driving there were a number of models (GM, I’m looking in your direction) that you’d be lucky to get 10 years out of before they were relegated to the scrap heap.
