This, this, Jesus Christ this. Every mouthbreather whining about pro/rel is wearing an Arsenal scarf down at the local pub.

MLS is better than a lot of leagues that have pro/rel and worse than others. Just like the NBA is better than European basketball leagues even if Europe has pro/rel and we don’t. It’d be a cool to have but this idea that we’re doomed to fail as long as there’s no promotion or relegation is based on fantasy, and it’s a…
I actually would advocate for an FA Cup type of tournament between the 2-3 major basketball leagues. And yes, I think relegation would be great IF basketball had a quality 2 levels below the NBA.
Your last paragraph is on point. Especially the part about NBC Sports and the EPL.
If you haven’t recognized the MLS snake oil routine by now, you’re either really dumb or you’re perfectly fine with being conned.
Steve Nash is already an MLS owner. This article is so stupid.

I don’t understand how the threat of relegation would lead to better soccer clubs. I can understand how a removal of the salary cap would, but not relegation. If US Soccer went the way of British soccer you’d probably have 4 or 5 great teams. Is the threat of relegation supposed to make everyone else better, give them…
Not part of the approved narrative man. Facts can’t get in the way of this indictment.
Not worth mentioning that Nash is part owner of the Whitecaps?
I’m still shivering from the cringe-inducing nausea I feel when a white guy from Arizona with a millionaire daddy tells a black kid from Philly who made his millions through his own hard work that he doesn’t know how to handle adversity.
I gotta admit, the Millennial outpouring against the more anti-Millennial comments in this thread is absolutely perfect.

The only worthwhile thing Robert Sarver has ever done is sign Steve Nash’s checks.
For those curious: Robert Sarver was born into a prominent business family in Tuscon, Arizona. His father, among other things, ran a savings and loan where Sarver worked as a teenager. Sarver started on the road of super richness in 1994 when at age 33 he started his own bank in Tuscon.

I’m from Philly. I’ve been through adversity my whole life.
