I woulda taken that 13 large right across the street to club risque and made it rain

Things won’t be easier for him when he gets to central PA. He is going to be in deep Sheetz.

The difference is UEFA holds the Europa league for teams that didn’t make the Champions league and not one of the losing teams. What the US federation is doing is a disgraceful and a sign of a Concacaf powerhouse being a sore, sorry loser.

The problem is that there is no way to force other teams to field their best players. Guys want to play in the World Cup, but whether they would want to play in a makeup cup is tough to say.

An alternate scenario is that countries like Italy send garbage squads with washed up vets and 14 year olds, while the US puts together the best team it can. The US team wins, the US soccer establishment pats itself on the back and decides everything is peachy, and delays changes for another four years.

Well the funny part is that the US would definitely get murdered almost instantly by these much better national programs.

Might as well have said, “Well, there’s 11 players on the field, aren’t there?”
Can’t roll my eyes hard enough.

Become the US beat reporter of a sport that is consistently a stinking backwater of ineptitude and grift, week in and week out, and you can live that dream.

Teams I would want to see, playing on a US-friendly television schedule? I’m already making the popcorn for this. To choke on when I rage scream at Altidore napping on defense and when Wondo comes in. But I’ll watch.

They already do that with the Olympics which the US has failed in qualifying for too.

That’s my thought, too. The only way to get better at soccer at an international level....is to play more games at an international level. If that means playing more games at double AA ball instead of the major leagues, then so be it.

“This message has been endorsed and paid for by the NFL.”

I mean, having an Irradiated Wasteland host the World Cup would still be more humane and have better playing conditions than Qatar

I’m not saying that I sang “there’s only one Ayatollah” on a beach in Georgia after that 2-1 defeat to Iran, but I’m not saying I didn’t.

Oh god, that everyone is a midfielder “formation.” Our strength is our athleticism so let’s not learn anything but lean in on that. Let’s never get smarter—I blocked that out. Mind you, that’s always been the m.o. even when we are doing better—every good game that was 90 minutes of heroics means that you were never in

God, that’s really the only way to interpret that tone-deafness / obliviousness, isn’t it. Gross and embarrassing.

“Well, U.S. soccer’s not broken.”
